Many might think of the Big Apple foodie experience as overwhelming. These three tiny restaurants are approachable, boutique, chef-driven, and locals places to dine in intimate settings. They also keep the New York dining experience creative, captivating and sensational.

Dining at dinnertable is intimate and comfortable as sharing a meal at your best friend’s home. A postage stamp sized open kitchen is home to husband-and-wife chef duo Scott Tacinelli and Angie Rito, who manage to create some of the most impressive, buzzy and adventurous food in NYC. The speakeasy-style restaurant is tucked behind the East Village hotspot The Garret East and serves just 19 people at a time. The menu is sophisticated yet unpretentious, allowing diners to satiate funky Italian dishes. Their drink menu pairs perfectly to meal choices, from updated classic cocktails to Italian wines from small producers.

The Eddy

The Eddy, on East 6th Street, features an 11-seat bar area and 32-seat dining room. Executive chef Brendan McHale created an a la carte menu, and five-course tasting menus that update daily. Classic American dishes are seasonal and use local ingredients. McHale’s co-owner, is wine director Jason Soloway, and head bartender Luis Hernandez mixes cocktails. Don’t miss: the Purple Rain!

Wallflower

Wallflower in the West Village boasts French-country cuisine inspired, with a killer cocktail list crafted by Xavier Herit. With just 30 seats, guests dine on tasting and a la carte menus. Executive chef Derrick Paez. Don’t miss: Caramelized Bread Pudding, Shrimp & Grits and Jerk Spiced Quail.
